YWCA Beaumont Board hosts Entergy Coffee Break
Afternoon “Networking” Coffee Break:
The afternoon coffee break sponsored by Entergy Texas, Inc. was hosted by YWCA Beaumont. Sixty nine nonprofit and faith based organizations were in attendance at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. The spotlight was on the YWCA with Margueritte Humphrey and Theresa Tate as spokespersons. Members of the board were introduced and programs highlighted. Four large displays boards featured pictures and graphics, displaying current programs and participants. All members of YWCA were easily identified as they wore persimmon scarves furnished by Dr. Deborah Queen, Executive Director. Elise Fulton Smith, who orchestrated our participation, hosted the YWCA table and graciously welcomed visitors as she networked with the of social service agencies from the community.
Mary Young from Entergy, Texas Inc. gave an update on Beat the Heat, Cooling stations, and Power to Care programs.
Wonderful food was served by Two Magnolias and fabulous door prizes were given from Steck Vaughn, Entergy,Texas, Inc. and YWCA Beaumont. The coffee break ended on a delightfully happy note as everyone stood and applauded the YWCA Beaumont and sang the Carol Burnett theme song, “I’m so Glad we had the Time Together”.
